Copyright, Image Licensing and Guest Contributor Responsibility
1. Image Ownership and Licensing Requirements
All guest contributors are responsible for ensuring that every image, photograph, illustration, graphic, or other visual asset submitted for publication on Techenger.com is lawfully obtained and authorised for the intended use.
Contributors must submit only images that they:
– Own and have the legal right to use;
– Have created themselves; or
– Have obtained from a legitimate source under a valid licence or permission that allows publication on Techenger.com.
Images described as royalty-free must still comply with the applicable licence terms. Contributors must retain proof of the image source, licence, permission, or other applicable usage rights and provide it upon reasonable request.
Images copied from search engines, social media, other websites, or third-party publications must not be submitted unless the required rights or permissions have been obtained.
2. Contributor Responsibility
By submitting an article and its accompanying images, the contributor confirms that they have the necessary rights and permissions for the submitted content and that, to the best of their knowledge, its publication does not unlawfully infringe third-party intellectual property rights.
Contributors are responsible for providing accurate information about the origin and licensing of their submitted materials. Where legally permissible, contributors may be held responsible for losses, claims, or expenses arising from their breach of these requirements.
3. Copyright Complaints and Evidence Requirements
Any person or organisation raising a copyright concern regarding content published on Techenger.com is requested to provide sufficient information to enable the matter to be investigated, including:
– The direct URL of the specific article or webpage, or other reliable information identifying the alleged use;
– A copy of the image or other material concerned;
– Evidence of copyright ownership or the legal authority to act on behalf of the rights holder;
– Evidence identifying the alleged use and, where relevant, its dates and duration; and
– Details of the legal and factual basis for any compensation or payment being claimed.
General allegations or unsupported payment demands may be insufficient to establish liability. Techenger.com reserves the right to request further information before determining an appropriate response.
4. Reporting and Removal of Disputed Content
Rights holders are encouraged to report suspected unauthorised use promptly after discovering it, so that the matter can be investigated and appropriate action taken without unnecessary delay.
Upon receiving a sufficiently detailed complaint, Techenger.com may temporarily restrict access to, remove, or investigate the disputed material while reviewing the available evidence. Removal of material is a precautionary measure and does not, by itself, constitute an admission of infringement or liability.
The removal or deletion of content does not necessarily resolve any legal claim relating to its previous use.
5. Assessment of Compensation Claims
Techenger.com does not automatically accept liability or agree to payment merely because a copyright complaint or compensation demand has been received.
Any demand for payment will be assessed on its specific facts, including the evidence of ownership, the alleged use, the applicable licence terms, the legal basis of the claim, and any relevant defences.
Techenger.com reserves the right to dispute unsupported, inadequately documented, or otherwise unjustified claims. Nothing in this policy constitutes an advance acceptance of liability or an agreement to pay compensation.
6. Right to Remove Content and Update Guidelines
Techenger.com reserves the right to reject, edit, restrict, or remove submitted content that may violate copyright or other applicable laws. Contributors may be asked to provide proof of licensing or replace disputed images.
These guidelines apply alongside the website’s other terms and applicable law. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any responsibility that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
